The Mat and Pack
About
There is an intuitive nature and wholeness inside all of us. That same wholeness is found outside. On the yoga mat, we connect to the elements within. With a backpack, we immerse in the natural world and discover we are not separate from it.

The Yogi
Hi! My name is Nicolette Edwards.
As a yoga teacher and outdoor enthusiast, my aim is to share and provide space for you to authentically connect to who you are as a human. We all have the potential to find mental clarity and awareness, physical strength, longevity, vibrancy, flexibility of mind, and better relationships - with others and ourselves. Yoga, hiking and meditation bring us back to who we were meant to be.
Creativity is deeply rooted in my being. I was born with an artist’s heart. When it comes to yoga, I love to incorporate unexpected poses within a flow sequence, or to take familiar poses and flow them in unexpected, yet accessible, ways. I have an interest in exploring the full spectrum of movement, health, growth and healing available within the mind-body connection. Guiding you to build a relationship with your physicality, how to access and recruit your fullest potential, and move with newfound curiosity, purpose and confidence is a joy.

I've been practicing yoga since 2004, teaching since 2017. I’m delighted to offer services in all things yoga: from high-powered vinyasa classes, to yin yoga, to slow-flow practices, meditation, and custom sessions.
The Hiker
In 2015, I quit my long-term office job and hiked half of the Appalachian Trail, sum 1,100 miles, solo. It took me three months and changed me forever. After that experience, I knew I wanted to connect with people, my work and nature in a very different and more meaningful way.

Since, I take off time every year to immerse myself in wilderness, put my treads on the ground, camp, and live a life outdoors. I've spent quite a bit of time hiking and backpacking areas around the southern Appalachians, and in my home state of Tennessee. Recently, I've backpacked the Pinhoti Trail, which runs Alabama to Georgia. Outside of that, it's a daily practice of mine to spend the first hour or so my my day outside - rain, snow, sun or wind.

Recently, and a the request of friends, I’m offering my services as a long-distance backpacker - someone who is thrilled to share what I know with those excited to venture outside. It can be an intimidating experience and one that requires research, but it is so accessible! If you have a zest for, or curiosity of, backpacking, I'm enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and preparing you for adventure. I'm particularly passionate about helping other women and marginalized individuals get outside. This space is for ALL of us!
